An extremely belated post here so hurriedly trying to cover a number of things.
Firstly, thank you to everyone who came to the Still Ill OK launch event at HEAD in Stretford. We made some cool art which, as promised, will come together to form the first issue of the Still Ill OK zine that will be curated over the next few months. The Haiku game created my personal faves, hehehe.
Got to meet some amazing new people who I (and I hope you!) look forward to meeting up with again soon!
I will be in touch very soon, ladies with dates for out next meet-ups 🙂
I’d also like to thank EVERYONE who donated money to myself/Still Ill OK on a personal fundraiser on Facebook. The results were incredible and went far beyond what I ever expected. People’s responses really moved me and, at a time where I typically melt down (alone and stuck to tubes in hospital) I was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I now understand that actually there are more people who pay attention and care than I think. This is something I find very important and will try to remember over the rest of the year as my useless surgery and worsening post-op infections take their toll. I’m more determined than ever to keep working on these projects and build something sustainable and accessible for people to enjoy and feel empowered by.
Still too sad to talk about hospital really. Was pretty horrific, didn’t go well and it’s been over two weeks now and I am yet again spending my Friday night in bed with a hot water bottle & stressed out me mind. Thank you everyone who remembered and messaged me xxx
Anyway, I am still recovering (unsuccessfully, gotta admit) but there are exciting things in the pipeline. At some point soon hopefully I will be able to stop saying and start doing.
Peace out x
